Spotlight: Curiosity Quest (and Giveaway!)

Doesn't it seem like your children's curiosity is endless? Ever wonder how Legos are made? Want to know what it's like to ride along in a police helicopter? What does a train engineer do?

On the educational program Curiosity Quest, host Joel Greene ventures on a quest each show to answer viewers' curiosity letters. The quests are unscripted and involves hands-on exploration--anything from swimming with the dolphins to racing around in Go-Karts and checking out some honeybee hives.

I had the opportunity to check out two episodes of Curiosity Quest with my niece and nephew. During the show, fun facts pop up on the screen (did you know that the US is the biggest trash producer in the world?!). Joel also hits the street to ask kids and adults questions--some of the answers had my niece and nephew busting up laughing!

Curiosity Quest: Steinway and Sons took us all the way to New York City to see how the famous piano is made from start to finish. My niece loved this episode since she just started taking piano lessons (she watched it a second time because she wanted to remember some of the cool facts to share with her teacher).

Curiosity Quest: Sanitary Landfill started off with the question, "Does somebody take all the recycle products out of the landfill or do they just stay in the landfill to turn into pollution?" Joel Greene took up the quest by going straight to the source of where our trash ends up (my nephew had the follow-up question "How can they stand the smell?")

My niece and nephew loved the shows and even decided to go online to send Joel on a quest (if you see Joel learning how to scuba dive, then you know that my niece sent him on that adventure!)
