Fun sites online for summer learning

Summer break is here! Help your child maintain their academic skills or learn a new skill in a fun way online. Check out some of these fun sites that I recommend to parents:

FunBrain.com: Includes games such as Math Arcade, Web Books (including Diary of a Wimpy Kid!) and comics, and Sudoku. You can easily find games based on your child’s grade level. My favorite pick is Mad Libs Junior.

FamilyEducation.com: There is a nice Printables selection where you can find activities such as coloring pages, games and puzzles, art, and music.

The American Library Association’s Great Web Sites for Kids: Check out different sites listed by category (such as animals, science, and history and biography)

HighlightsKids.com: Remember the magazine? I used to look forward to getting this in the mail when I was a kid. Now your child can check out the magazine online where they can read the Story or the Week, play Hidden Pictures, and check out some Try This experiments.
